Kathleen J. Smith

A 1980 Holy Cross College graduate with a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984, Ms. Smith has been in Ventura County since 1994. She advises clients and handles litigation in business-related intellectual property, internet, product liability and employment matters. She also has experience in public law matters. In 1984, Ms. Smith served two years as judicial law clerk to the Hon. William J. Rea of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, and then spent eight years in Los Angeles defending product liability and enforcing the copyrights and trademarks of international designers and software producers. Ms. Smith is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U. S. District Court for the Central District of California.  Ms. Smith serves in elective office (1998-present) on the Ojai Unified School District Board of Trustees and is president of the Ventura County School Boards Association (2008-09).
